With a long and cold spring, the bog is just starting to awaken, so there aren't too many pics yet. As I observe more activity, more pics will follow.

Temperatures have been all over the place, so the plants have been taking their time. Things have started to really warm up now, so things are starting to happen. It looks like I'm going to have a lot of flowers this year - somewhere between 50 and 70 flowers among all of the plants. Not too bad for starting nearly all from seedlings in 2003!

Entire garden from right side. A little closer in from right side. P. vulgaris - should be in flower soon. S. flava 'Coppertop' flower scapes. S. flava 'Rugleii' and S. flava 'Ornata' flower scapes.
S. flava 'Maxima' flower scapes S. oreophila pitchers and flower bud. Another S. oreo growing strangely again. I don't know why it does this. Later pics will show the abnormality better. S. purpurea flower scapes. S. rubra alabamensis
S. rubra gulfensis 'Antho Free' (has greenish yellow flowers). S. rubra jonesii 'Antho Free' (has greenish yellow flowers). S. rubra jonesii S. rubra wherryi

D. filiformis filiformis

Most of the hibernacula started growing, then rotted. About 10 plants survived.

We've had some hot weather and one heck of a thunderstorm complete with tornado warnings. The growth rate in the garden has picked up. The flavas bloomed first, followed by the purps. The oreophila is not too far behind. Note that the previous day, there were a million dandelion floaters in the air and my bog is full of them (that's all that white stuff in the photos). I anticipate a long weeding session in about a week or so.

Right side of bog - S. oreophila flower ready to open. Note the bent over pitcher to the left. That's a deformed S. oreophila that I cannot figure out. I'll try to get a better pic later.
